Believe to Achieve

DEIB

Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) at William Booth

We believe that every single member of our William Booth School community – children, parents, staff and governors - has a fundamental and equitable right to be seen, be heard and belong. With DEIB at the heart of our curriculum, we are committed to increasing awareness to ensure that everyone feels represented and valued, and is empowered to be proud of their identity. For us, creating an inclusive school is not only the right thing to do – it is our strategic aim to build knowledge and understanding to foster a culture of kindness, tolerance and respect, particularly through celebrating the differences of the wonderfully diverse community we serve. Through embracing our BELIEVE school values, we can contribute to shaping the world we live in with informed minds and ensure that every individual is able to reach their full potential.

Equality and School Paperwork

We are trying to overhaul some of our paperwork to better reflect the modern world and the rich variety of family arrangements that exist in our community. For example, where registration forms asked for the name of mother and father, we have removed this to ask for names of people with parental responsibility.

We think we’ve got them all completed appropriately. However, going forward if you spot a form that you think is not inclusive and respective of diversity, please feel free to highlight it to us at the office.
