EAL
At William Booth Primary School, our vision is to inspire all children to reach their full potential. We provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for all children, including those with English as an additional language (EAL). As a school, we know that bilingualism is a strength and that EAL learners make a valuable contribution to the growth of our school.
Chatter Chums
We carefully choose year 6 pupils who have the skills to provide support in the language development of our EYFS bilingual children. Wherever possible, the children’s languages are matched. However being a friendly, great language role model is essential. Having a job as a Chatter Chum involves dedication and commitment alongside a passion for talking. Successful candidates participate in robust training before getting to work with our younger dual language pupils.
